Nutella cookies

I love Nutella, I try to eat it every chance I get- on toast, in between English muffins (with peanut butter), or just a spoonful by itself…YUMS!

I found this recipe when I decided to bake some yummy Nutella cookies… how cute are they!

Acai Bowl

One of my favorite things to eat in the summer is Acai bowl. I discovered it in the lovely state of Hawaii. As soon as I tried it the first time, I immediately craved for it every single day after that… it's THAT good...

Acai is a kind of berry that is typically found in the Brazilian amazon. It is full of antioxidants. You may see its products a lot in the grocery stores these days- acai berry juice, acai flavored coconut water, etc…

I actually have been seeing acai bowl in quite a couple of places in the mainland. However, I decided that I will figure out how to make my own acai bowl at home. All I needed were acai smoothie packets (sold in Whole Foods and many health stores), banana, frozen mixed berries, soy milk, and granola!

Directions-
Use a blender to blend together half a banana, acai smoothie pack, 1/3 cup of mixed berries, and 1/2 cup of soy milk. Top the blended product with the rest of banana (sliced) and granola. You can also drizzle some honey on top of the Acai bowl if you'd like.

Ah, it's so yummy and healthy. Have it for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

Max Brenner

I finally got a chance to visit Max Brenner in NYC this past week. This chocolate based restaurant is fun enough for a chit-chaty girls date, or a romantic after-dinner dessert date.

We did not order their restaurant menu since we just had lunch. Everything on their dessert menu looked scrumptious, the decision was very very difficult...

We finally decided on trying the Chrystal Sugar Churro Fondue as well as the Banana Split Waffles. OH MY GOD I am drooling just thinking about it... WARNING- the pictures below are dangerous...

Cinnamon sugar churros with 3 warm dipping sauces- caramel, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate.

This, was heaven. Perfect buttery waffles topped with sugar-crusted banana, then topped with caramelized rice krispies, THEN topped with vanilla bourbon ice cream. Served with milk chocolate covered rice krispies and a chocolate-carmamel sauce.

God, I think the pictures did enough convincing... just go there people, just go there.

Taco Rice

If you know me personally, you would know that my family is very stubborn with our Chinese food. We typically have it for lunch, and always have it for dinner. Lately, my cousin decided to break the tradition and start cooking something that is a bit different-- Taco Rice. Guess what, the family loved it! It is becoming a dinner staple in our very Chinese food oriented family.

The ingredients are fairly simple- ground beef, taco seasoning, chopped lettuce, cubed tomatoes, red onions, avocado, cooked rice.
We added a little cilantro and lime juice to the rice to give it a little flavor.

When you assemble everything together, it looks like this-

The instruction is fairly simple. Just cook ground beef with taco seasoning based on the number of people you are serving. Then layer all the ingredients on top of the rice. You can also top it off with some shredded cheese.

Simple yet delicious. I hope this becomes a staple of your family too :)

Minnie Cookies!

My lovely friend was in Disneyland and brought back a perfect present for me- Cookie mix! How cute is this!

The instructions were easy, all I needed was butter and eggs. The cookies came out so cute and delicious!

They do look very yummy, don't they?

Ramen

Alright, besides the Asian sandwich place that I mentioned below, I also had really yummy ramen this week. Ippudo in the East Village.

This famous ramen place is fairly hard to get into- they don't take reservations and the waits are often over an hour long. If you are a hungry boob, then you are out of luck. (I am not sure why I chose "hungry boob", it's the first thing I thought of, leave me alone, you boob).

They sat us at the bar, and this is what it looks like-

Nam Peng

God I had the most amazing sandwich this week. Nam Peng in Union Square... hells to the MF yeah.

It is a Cambodian-American sandwich joint- tiny, quick, and really really really delicious. Here is my catfish sandwich-

And the delicious grilled corn with chili mayo, chili powder, and coconut flakes...

The seasoning and pickled veggies were just perfect and the buns were perfectly toasted. Gah, go there.

Thai Green Curry

My favorite Thai dish is Green Curry. This what I always get every time I get Thai. I recently realized that I can actually make it myself! It was wonderfully yummy :)

Vietnamese Summer Rolls

Spring is right around the corner and a lot of people are watching what they're eat for the season. Friends, I have a beautiful dish for you-

Vietnamese Summer Rolls! This dish is starting to be very common even in American restaurants, I've even seen it at the Cheesecake Factory! The dish is really light and really simple. Here it is-
