樂麵屋

If you read my blog a lot, you would notice that I LOVE ramen. Yums, eating ramen is so comforting when you find a place that make them good!

I found this place, 樂麵屋, in Taipei that makes very good ramen. What I love about this place is that you get to customize your own bowl. After you pick your soup base, you get to choose whether you like  thick/thin noodles, how you want your noodles cooked, how salty you'd like your soup to be, etc. I loved it!

I picked the 豚骨拉麵. The soup was rich and flavorful and the pieces of meat were tender. I ordered thick noodles cooked not to thorough and that turned out so good as well.

Pattie ordered the Miso Ramen. This one was good too! The soup was slightly lighter than mine but still had a really good flavor. It wasn't too salty either.

I would definitely come back here again. I had a yummy eating experience and the waiting staff were wonderful as well!

Toyko Narita Airport

Hey All!

Sorry for the hiatus! I just settled in Taiwan, my home for the next 4 months!

During my long 20 hours of travel time from Newark to Taiwan, we stopped at Tokyo. I had planned to get ramen at Tokyo long ago since it is the origin of ramen.

This is the place I picked-

I got the miso ramen-
Broth was good, thick and full of flavor. The noodles were even better, thick, chewy, and tasty. The only thing that I was a bit disappointed about is that it was a bit too salty.

Pattie got the soy sauce ramen-
Definitely lighter than mine. Really yummy, I would get this next time.

Since we had a 3.5 hour layover, we walked around the airport and found the famous Banana Cake that Tokyo is famous for!
Cute packaging, right?

The cute cakes-

Pattie was excited to try them-

I tried the banana cake as well. I actually didn't like it. The texture and the flavor was weird to me… I probably wouldn't get it again...

Ramen

Alright, besides the Asian sandwich place that I mentioned below, I also had really yummy ramen this week. Ippudo in the East Village.

This famous ramen place is fairly hard to get into- they don't take reservations and the waits are often over an hour long. If you are a hungry boob, then you are out of luck. (I am not sure why I chose "hungry boob", it's the first thing I thought of, leave me alone, you boob).

They sat us at the bar, and this is what it looks like-
